Hump Day Humour

Happy Wednesday, Everyone!

It's the middle of the work week and as early as now, I'm daydreaming of the weekend already.  Who's with me on this one????

I walked past my workmate's desk and saw a poster which said "THE SHREDDER" so I had a read through it and can't help but laugh.  Because of that poster, I had a few seconds of laughter which I needed to ease up my busy morning.

I'm sharing the poster with you and a few other office humour photos I found online.  Hope they make you smile or laugh too.

Training for Doctors

Like employees who work in public office or private sectors, there are now trainings for doctors who may want to branch out to teaching or management duties.  I know a few doctors who found fulfillment in the service of teaching students who want to someday be doctors as well.

In Oxford Medical, they offer several courses to doctors who may want to enhance their knowledge and skills and be more effective in their field. One of Oxford Medical's flagship courses is the Consultant Interview Course where one can learn the skills needed in medical presentations and responding to interview questions.  For those who want to branch out to teaching, they offer a Medical Teaching Course , both run in Oxford and London, is aimed at giving formal medical education to doctors who would like to improve their teaching styles.  To support this, doctors can attend the Teach the Teacher Course and be guided by different learning styles, learning theories, tips on how to handle difficult students and how to give feedback.  For doctors who need to enhance their skills in supervising their subordinates and teams, they can enroll in a Medical Management Course as this will help them learn about performance management and personal effectiveness skills.  They will also learn about management and leadership of specialist and multi-disciplinary teams to achieve the effective working and further development of services.

There are more trainings/courses offered by Oxford Medical so check out their website and find a course that will make your dreams come true.

Online Medicine Shopping

From shoes, clothes, appliances and travel, everything can be conveniently bought online these days.  Isn't that amazing?  The world wide web is such a powerful tool for everyone to connect to loved ones and shop without having to leave the comfort of our homes.

These days, it is very important too for a pharmacy to deliver medicines via online.  I found this website called Canadian Pharmacy Meds which is a Canadian Pharmacy that delivers medicines all over the world.  They don't just sell Canada Drugs or deliver to Canada Pharmacy, but their company can ship orders internationally.  All their medicines are affordable and customers can ask for assistance in filling in their prescriptions.

Their website is also very user-friendly.  On top of the website, you can easily navigate to making or filling in an order, signing in to your account and whether to go to the Prescriptions or Over the Counter tabs.

Visit Canadian Pharmacy Meds and pay for medicines at affordable prices.

Pretty Flower Boxes

If you want to beautify the windows of your home, one suggestion is getting a window box.  Once I was surfing online the other day, I saw this dainty window box and led me to WindowboxPlanters.  They have different kinds of window boxes to choose from but these two photos are my favorite.

These window boxes can turn a boring window into a charming and stylish window.  You can also place them in the rails of your balcony.   Other than make your house lovely, it gives more character to the look of your house.

Wouldn't it be lovely to look outside your window or balcony and see beautiful flowers in classic flower boxes?  If it were me, I'd always sip my tea looking out the window if only to see the flowers by the window or maybe hang out by the balcony more often.  Seeing flowers outside my window or balcony will surely help me relax.

Medicare Supplemental Insurance

Nowadays, it's important to have medical insurance for the family.  Regular health maintenance and unexpected illnesses will not worry you or your family as long as you have the security of a medical insurance.  With medical insurance companies  being innovative, they have now introduced Medicare Supplemental Insurance to families and individuals.

Medical Supplemental Insurance is a way to provide policy coverage for gaps not included in one's health insurance.  An individual can avail supplemental insurance via http://www.medicaresupplementalinsurance.com as long as he or she has availed the basic coverage of the Part A and Part B of Medicare.  You can get basic health insurance from private institutions such as Medicare.org or Aptus Insurance and whatever gaps in coverage there may be, you can get a Medical Supplemental Insurance to fill in for you.

Health is wealth.  These days, it's better to be safe and healthy with both the basic coverage and gaps in insurance taken cared of.

Buy Concert Tickets Online

Just last night I tweeted that I ache to watch a musical.

It's been awhile since the Husband and I have been to the theatres.  The last show we watched was KAOS in  Resorts World Manila and that felt like ages ago.  There are a few musicals that seem to entice me but not enough to make me buy us a ticket.  I'm actually looking forward to next season's musicals (I heard "Annie" will be in Sydney early next year) so I'm waiting for that.

In the meantime, Husband and I are eyeing some concerts that we may want to watch.  We are not into concerts but once in a while we let ourselves experience watching great performers on stage and listen to them sing.  Nowadays, there are so many concerts happening all over the world and you can get cheap tickets online such as Jennifer Lopez tickets, Enrique Iglesias tickets, Luis Miguel tickets, Vicente Fernandez tickets and Marco Antonio tickets.  If you want to check out more artists who are might soon be having concerts, the power is already in our hands with just one click of a mouse.

Further Studies Thru Online Learning

My time and energy has been focused on work lately.  For the past year, my team and I have been working on a huge training program at work that combines classroom training and online courses that they have to go thru in order to complete the program.  We have launched our training program and we are so proud of what we have come up with.  I'm so inspired with what we have accomplished that I'm now starting to think of enrolling myself into online degree programs in Human Resources.

When I lived and worked in Manila a few years back, my dream was to do some further studying in the area of Human Resource, but I didn't have the time then.  I got caught up in my career and eventually forgot about it.  Now that I'm living here in Sydney, the idea seems possible because of the gift of technology.  Well, it will make my life busier but still, the convenience and benefits of gaining online Degrees seem realistic for a wife and career woman like me.  What's best is that these days, there are institutions that help in financing one's studies like http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ so I'm feeling more confident about taking this step to learning more and growing in the field of Human Resource.

I'm going to think some more and if not this year, maybe next year, I will be able to start being a student again.  Wish me luck!

Tickets to Cheap Seats

The minute I came back from my holiday in Manila, one of my friends asked me if I wanted to watch theatre plays currently on show but I declined.  My Husband and I are taking a rest from going out for the past month.  We felt it was too soon to be going out after our big vacation.  However, I can't help but share with you some great deals on aCheapseat.com .

I have long wanted to buy Cirque Du Soleil Tickets and The Lion King Tickets.  I have heard so many wonderful reviews from my relatives and friends who have experienced watching these two spectacular show.  I hope one day my Husband and I will get to watch them too.

For concerts, I would love to have a go at James Taylor Tickets and Tim McGraw Tickets for some great night of sweet loving music.  And who wouldn't want to have the chance of owning U2 Concert Tickets?  My friends would squealed in delight in case they have a change to get cheap tickets to any U2 concert.

It's nice to dream of concerts and shows I would like to see someday.  One day I know I'll have the time and money to buy those tickets.  But if you have chance to get to see one of these, check it out and buy tickets now!

Revamped Starbucks Siren

Good morning!  I woke up at 6:45am even if my alarm was set at 8:30am.  I have a fun and busy day ahead of me but I decided to get up, log in and write my article for "Ang Kalatas".  Our next issue will come out next weekend so I hope some of you will be able to get a copy.  If not, you can check our issues online.

Before I officially start my day, let me share with you the new Starbucks logo.  At the start of the year, Starbucks announced that their logo will have a new look.  I've seen a few online buddies of mine share photos of the new look but it was only last Wednesday that I saw it.

Revamped Starbucks Siren

Revamped Starbucks Siren

Looks very "minimalistic" to me.  No more frills, no more words needed.  When you see "the siren", you'll know it's Starbucks.

Wishing you a great weekend.

Watching the Currency Closely

The happenings in Japan is devastating.  My Husband and I had a great day on Friday and when we had coffee before going home, we checked twitter and the news was all over the net--that Japan experienced an earthquake and tsunami.  Plus, there were threats of tsunami in different countries.  We were particularly concerned because there was a tsunami alert in the Philippines and Australia.  Thank goodness, both countries were spared.

While we all know that Japan can rise above all these adversity, it's heartbreaking to watch them suffer.  After the earthquake and tsunami, now there are threats of a nuclear meltdown.  Some businesses have closed and even the world market is suffering too.  While Japan's currency is being watched, we are also monitoring the Australian Dollar, because whatever is happening in other countries, it has an effect on our currency too.  For currency updates especially the Australian Dollar the Husband and I check the Business Spectator

I hope what's happening in Japan ends soon.  And I really wish that all calamities all over the world would just end.  Let's all be safe.

Move to Melbourne?

Our friends in Melbourne has once asked us, "If you love Melbourne so much, why not consider moving here?"  And honestly, the thought has entered our minds a couple of times.  We are truly at home in Melbourne and it is a good city to live in too.

Sometimes we go beyond wondering.  Three months ago, we had a bit of a look on some display homes in Melbourne and it was a great experience to see other options.  The homes we saw were beautiful and conveniently located near the CBD.  At one point, we said, "What if we really move?"  While looking at houses, it felt exciting and inviting.  There's a part of me that wanted to grab an opportunity to have a big adventure in our married life while the other part of me is not so keen because Sydney is home to us.

For now we are staying put where we are.  However, we are also not closing our doors should there be an opportunity somewhere.  Life may surprise us one time or another so if does happen, I'd say, "Why not?"

Cheap Seats to Great Events

I'm a lover of arts and theatre and I'm glad I was able to influence the Husband with my love for watching plays and musicals.  Every year, we make it a point to invest time and money in order to watch one or two musicals or plays (three if we get lucky) instead of watching movies.  The experience is always exhilirating as we watch a story come to life infront of us.

We're grateful nowadays for the internet because instead of falling in line to buy tickets, it's so easy to get great seats to plays, concerts and other events via online.  Buying tickets is as easy as 1-2-3.

To my American readers, you may want to check a website we found online for buying tickets to events.  When you book thru them, they will try to give you the best seats available.  If you want to watch a musical, I suggest you watch and buy Jersey Boys Tickets.  If you and your friends are sports fans, treat them to The Masters Tickets and have fun watching golf tournaments.  If you want a night of fun and laughter, some Daniel Tosh Tickets can do the trick.  For a show that will inspire you, buy some Joel Osteen Tickets and experience additional enlightenment in your life.   For live concerts, the best would be to check out the event schedule and purchase United Center tickets, this could be a surprise to your loved ones.  You can buy tickets at your convenience, whether for you or for your family.

Waiting for that Phone Call

My bestfriend is due to give birth soon and I'm so excited for her.   Two days ago, she called me at the office and I thought she was about to give birth already.  We made a pact that as soon as she goes on labour, she or Husband will call me.  Her tummy is feeling very heavy and she related that she might give birth before her due date.

As always our phone call turned out really funny as we talked about what her Husband will wear when she gives birth.  Her Husband is a nurse and I jokingly asked, "Is he wearing his nurse uniform or green scrubs?  Or maybe he has a lab coat too?"  And we laughed.  I know we sound lame but I guess that's what makes us the best of friends.  We can laugh about anything we talk about.

I'm looking forward to hearing from her again, hoping that it soon be about her going on labour.  I'm going on a holiday soon and I would really like to be there for her in this very important occasion of her life.

An Hour of Walking

I'm feeling great as I write as this very moment as I totaled an hour of walking today.  I usually walk an average of 20-30 minutes per day but on days when the weather is perfect, I add a few more minutes to my daily walking routine.

Walking has a lot of benefits to our body.  If you walk on a regular basis, it burns lots of calories.  I can imagine it to something like attending several personal training courses  or applying for personal training careers for free!

Walking does a lot of wonders to me as it is not only just a physical activity but more of a spiritual and mental activity.  When I walk, especially in the afternoons, it serves as an avenue for me to think of the things that happened during the day, be thankful for the blessings I received and sometimes think of my dreams and plans for the future.  Walking also de-stresses me and keeps me happy.

At the end of a busy day at work, it's one of those activities that I look forward to doing.

Have a great and healthy week!

Life Insurance For a More Secured Future

One of the things I invested in when I became financially stable was a life insurance.  Some people take life insurance for granted but the advantage of having one is the fact that whatever happens to me, I know my family will be taken cared of.  "Having a life insurance gives you peace of mind" may sound cliche to some but for me, it is so true.  I feel a bit more secure knowing that I'm insured for life.

In Australia, if one is having difficulty in finding a policy for life insurance, all they have to do is check out iSelect's website and they can make a comparison on all the life insurance providers available to them.  It's so easy to navigate their website.  All you have to do is fill in the details in the GET A QUOTE portion of the page and it will lead you to another page asking for the types of cover you need.  Just click on your choices and in a few minutes, iSelect will generate a quote for you!

If you don't have a life insurance yet, think it over now and compare quotes.  It is better to be prepared than sorry.

Need Some Ink?

This link I found may be useful to those living in America and Canada.  My Husband and I are looking online for great printer ink cartridges bargains for our Canon printer a few nights back and we came across this website called inkgrabber.com.

inkgrabber.com has wide array of printer cartridges for different brands of printers to different models of ink cartridges.   The website is user-friendly as you can shop by printer by brand, monitor the delivery of your orders, the shipping policy is explained well and they have an FAQ page for any more of your queries.  You can easily navigate the page especially that the brands can be easily seen on the left portion of the page.

They also offer discounts and sales on their website!  They are currently running a New Year Sale offering a discount of 10% off your order amounting to more than $55.00.  The code is already mentioned on the website to avail this discount.  If you are wanting to buy printer cartridges right now, this might be a good time to do it.

Pretty Window Box Planters For The Home

If you want to beautify the windows of your home, one suggestion is getting window flower boxes or garden window boxes.  Once I was surfing online the other day, I saw this dainty window box and led me to WindowboxPlanters.  They have different kinds of window boxes to choose from but these two photos are my favorite.

These window plant boxes can turn a boring window look charming and stylish.  You can also place them in the rails of your balcony.   Other than make your house lovely, it gives more character to the look of your house.

Address Plaques for the Home

Who would have thought that something as simple as an address plaque would have an impression on your home and/or business?

One of our (my Husband and I) dreams is to one day own a house.  On days when we are in "dream mode", we like looking at photographs of houses.  It gives us an idea of what we would purchase some day.  Nowadays, we are taking our dream to own a home a little more seriously.  When we look at photographs of houses, we look closely on the structure and details of each one.  We also look how address signs and mailboxes are placed outside a certain home.

What we discovered recently from looking at house photographs is that address plaques has a certain impact in one's home appearance.  It can set the mood or theme of your home.  The color of your address sign and where you will place it is also something to be considered.

I know I may sound like I'm thinking too far ahead but we will never know, right?  Maybe our dream home will happen sooner than we think.  My Husband and I are very hopeful and positive about it.

Car Issues? Try RepairPal

Technology is such a wonderful tool if used right.  Nowadays, everything can be found on the internet.  For my Husband and I, we appreciate all the ideas and suggestions we can get from loved ones and online when there are things we need information about.

Just recently, we were looking at information about annual car check ups. We found this very useful website on auto repair called RepairPal.  I believe that this is an American website as the cities mentioned are New York, San Francisco, Dallas, Houston and Chicago Auto Repair to name a few.  For my friends in America, this website can be very helpful to you.

RepairPal is an independent resource giving unbiased solutions to your car problems.  You can use the website for getting price estimates for car services and parts.  For example, if you have a Toyota Camry, just find the list of Common Car Models and click on Toyota Camry and you will find information regarding the car's repair and maintenance.

They also have a list of Common Auto Repairs that has info on what you need to do when a certain part of your car needs repair.  Its list includes Check Engine Light, Engine Oil and Filter Change, Brake Pad Replacement, etc.

Even if you don't live in America, I believe that most of the information about auto repair is very useful to anyone who owns a car.
