Traveling via Sydney's Domestic Airport

One of things I love about this city is that it provides travelers to have a convenient way of going in and out of Sydney.

My Husband and I usually take the train in going to and from the airport.  Sydney trains are luggage-friendly to travelers and if you are coming from the suburbs, it will cost less compared to taking a taxi.  There is also a way to check out train schedules so you can be better prepared at traveling.

A train station is directly connected to Domestic and International Airport.  For our travel last week to Melbourne, we got off at Domestic Airport Train Station.  As we got off the train, we just rode a few escalators up and found ourselves in the check-in area of the Domestic Airport.  After we checked-in our luggage and had the final security check, we enter the T2 Domestic Terminal.  The first things you will see are shops!

There's the food court for those wanting to have a meal before their flight.

You can find computerized information kiosks if you're wanting to find your way around the area.

More shops.  Notice lots of space in this airport.  A lot of travelers notice how clean this city is.  Seeing how they maintain Sydney Airport, their impression probably starts here.

This is just a domestic airport but they invested on mini-walkalators.

Waiting areas' floors are carpeted.  When there aren't enough seats for waiting passengers, some of them just sit on the floor.

Sunset on Air

One of my best surprising experiences happened yesterday as I took a plane back home to Sydney and looked out the window and witnessed a beautiful sunset.  It was the perfect blessing to end my short Spring getaway with the Husband.
Sunset on Air

I don't remember ever booking a flight during sunset hours and the moment I saw this spectacle outside my window, one of my thoughts were, "I should have done this ages ago."

There's something wonderful about watching the sun set while up on air.  It's like you are so much nearer to God's beautiful creations.
Sunset on Air

Life gives you perfect moments in simple, minuscule forms sometimes that if you're not living in the moment, you might missed it.

Yesterday up on air, I experienced one of the most perfect moments of my life: sitting inside the plane, the beautiful sunset outside my window and holding the hand of the love of my life.

I'm in love.  I'm at peace.  I'm blessed.  I'm grateful.

Dinner @ Hurricane's Grill, Dessert @ The Chocolate Room

In celebration of our friend and tweetmate Kristine's arrival in Sydney, Lena, Jay, Chris and I took her to dinner tonight.  We took her to one of the restos in Sydney that served delicious ribs--Hurricane's Grill.

Pre-food...a reunion of sorts!

Kristine, Lena, Ibyang

We only ordered two courses at Hurricane's as we planned to have dessert somewhere else.  For starters, we had the Grilled Calamari (flash grilled with lemon and rice).  The calamari tasted fresh and soft.  I swear, the guys at Hurricane's know how to grill.

The main event was of course the Pork Ribs.  Two full racks of tasty, grilled Pork Ribs.  The meat was so tender it literally fell off the bones.   Sidings of chips and rice (for the boys) completed our meal.

We were supposed to have dessert at Lindt Cafe but it was closed already (boo hoo!) so we walked some more and found ourselves at The Chocolate Room.

The Chocolate Room

Had a taste of Mortal Sin.  Nice name for a cake, huh?  Sinfully rich but not too sweet.

The best discovery of the night was that they now serve Gelato!!! Weeeee!  Kristine had a scoop of Ferrero Gelato (yes, from the chocolate Ferrero Rocher) and I had a taste of it.  It had a nutty taste with an aftertaste of rhum (?).  Interesting.  Not sure if it was really rhum or maybe it was just very high in cocoa.

I had a scoop of the Tim Tam Gelato (yes, from the chocolate!)  It tasted like chocolate mudcake.  Not very "Tim Tam-y" for me.  But it was good nonetheless.

Kristine brought her Polaroid camera with her and it was a dream come true to have a genuine Polaroid photo of us!

My Polaroid souvenir.  I love it!!!! (Thanks Kristine!  Lovely to finally meet you!)

Kimuchi Beef is Love

The answer to my craving for something Korean and Pepper Lunch---Kimuchi Beef!

Pepper Lunch's Kimuchi Beef is simply their Beef Pepper Rice with Kimchi.  The server will ask you to stir your sizzling plate and so you should stir it while it is still hot. In a minute or two, the beef and rice turns brown and the aroma of Kimchi will fill the air.

I drizzle my beef with garlic sauce to make it more flavourful.  Hmmm, I'm in beef and kimchi heaven.  I wouldn't mind having this all the time.

Another discovery this week! Pepper Lunch Sydney has a website.  Check out more about them here.
