Forwarded email from my friend Gary (thank you!).
No one expects us to be cheerful and happy in the face of bad times. We may be Christians, but we bleed and cry just as much as nonbelievers.
You probably know at least one couple that has gone through terrible suffering with tremendous faith and fortitude. How do they cope? What do they know that you dont? More than likely, they have taken to heart the second part of the above verse: "When times are bad, consider: GOD HAS MADE THE ONE AS WELL AS THE OTHER." Good and bad, happy and sad, everything comes from God. We may not like some of the things He gives us, but He has His own reasons beyond our understanding , and everything is part of His plan.
"When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider: God has made the one as well as the other." Ecclesiastes 7:14
Prayer:
Father, it's hard to give thanks for pain. Grant us the wisdom to accept Your plan for our lives, even when it hurts, for we know everything comes from You.
